It is a race of the superlative. Conquering a course of just over 26 kilometres and 6,400 altitude metres, around 800 amateur athletes go on the hunt for the legendary “Nassfeld Trophy” together with Armin Assinger – idea provider, initiator, former ski star and ”ORF Millionenshow“ presenter – when it is again time to “Beat the Best” on Saturday, 19 January 2019. This legendary race, officially named as the world’s longest ski race by ”Guinness World Records“, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Many celebrities, captains of industry and media representatives have already confirmed their participation. Among the participants who will experience the unique “Beat the Best“ race atmosphere first hand and face competitors with quite some muscle power in their calves are Toni Pfeffer, Michael Konsel, Paco Wrolich, Bojan Krizaj and Alex List.

Groups of 20 athletes start the race in an interval of two minutes. Aim is to conquer a total of nine main pistes of various levels of difficulty across the entire ski resort. Crossing the finish line, the racers are welcomed by a cheering crowd of spectators. Spectacular moments can also be enjoyed after the race when the Carinthian mountain bikers Stefan Müller and Florian Lerchbaumer show in a Bike Stunt Show what can be done in the snow on two wheels and with a good portion of guts.

Apart from winning the prestigious “Nassfeld Trophy“, the participant who reaches the exact average time gets a Ford FOCUS Crossover for six months. Even if the exact average time is not reached, this prize will be awarded to the participant with the time closest to the average time.

Every ski fan aged 16 and over can participate in this challenge and can still secure one of the highly coveted 800 starting places until 14 January 2019. For registrations, go to www.schlagdasass.at
