Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 12 February 2021 – Tomorrow at 11.00  the Olympia delle Tofane track will host the women’s downhill, the third race on the World Championship programme in Cortina 2021. 31 athletes will start, ready to tackle the 42 gates on the Queen of the Dolomites’ famous slope.

Italy will open the race with the Roman, Piedmontese by adoption, Francesca Marsaglia. Slovenia’s Ilka Stuhec, who took gold in Åre two years ago, have start number 17, while the Swiss Corinne Suter  and Lara Gut-Behrami, the protagonists of the super-G, will race with numbers 7 and 13. Mikaela Shiffrin, who took bronze in the super-G, will not start.

At 13.00 the men will return to the track for the second and final timed test ahead of Sunday’s downhill, a race that will close  the first week of the Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo. (ends)
